A Mississippi man has been taken into custody after calling a Hayti business and threatening to shoot people inside on Friday, Dec. 9. Hayto police say that at around 2:30 p.m., they received a call of a person who had been calling threatening to shoot and kill everyone with an assault rifle. The caller was identified as 41-year old Terry D. Lester, of Byhalia, Mississippi. Lester was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 14 with the assistance of the Memphis Police Department. He has a $200,000.00 dollar cash or surety bond and is currently awaiting extradition to Pemiscot County. On Monday, Dec. 12, the Pemiscot County Prosecutors Office formally charged Lester with making terrorist threats without reckless disregard of risk or cause evacuation/close building, inhabitable structure and place of assembly (a class D felony).
